Acid Jazz continue their long term love affair with that most iconic of instruments, the Hammond organ and his little pal, the Leslie organ.
The latest edition of the Hammond Street series continues with more of the
same - classic jazz, soul, beat, funk and punk, all with one magic ingredient.
Some names are familiar, like the James Taylor Quartet, who back in 1996 were
responsible for the rebirth in the UK of this musical institution - we've
got Les Cappuccinos with an out-there interpretation of My Generation by The
Who - Trummer and Orgel are from Sweden - Illusion Of Groove are from Germany
and the rest are scattered around the country.
This time though, the label have thrown in a daring alternative - Rory More
at the Lowry! an imposter of an organ that somehow bewitched album compiler
Richard Searle into breaching his Hammond only policy.
A must for mods, soul boys and jazzers with strong support from the BBC funk
and soul show - enjoy!
