ACID JAZZ 20th ANNIVERSARY CLASSIC RE-ISSUES

RELEASE DATE – 21ST July 2008

As the iconic East End indie label enters its 20th birthday year, they have decided to release a number of VINYL ONLY re-issues of classic Acid Jazz albums in their original artwork

Kicking the series off on 21st July are three in-demand rarities:

THE JAMES TAYLOR QUARTET – IN THE HAND OF THE INEVITABLE
A ground breaking jazz funk and soul album from the undisputed ‘king’ of the Hammond organ. In The Hand Of… went gold back on release in 1994 at the peak of the original acid jazz explosion. Catalogue number JAZID LP115

THE NEW JERSEY KINGS – STRATOSHPERE BREAKDOWN
An extremely rare Hammond heavy instrumental album in the classic JTQ style. Not surprising really seeing as the New Jersey kings were actually the James Taylor Quartet under a nom-de-plume (James wanted an outlet for his classic Hammond style once his Quartet had moved over to orchestral jazz funk) – gritty and funky, this album hasn’t seen the light of day for well over 10 years. Catalogue number JAZID LP123

SNOWBOY & THE LATIN SECTION – THE BEST OF…
You find percussionists in the strangest of places. Who would have thought that the world’s best ‘non-south american’ bongo basher would hail from the Southend Delta. Essex’s finest ran his afro-cuban big band with a rod of iron and this album, culled from his first three Acid Jazz releases, showcases his finest moments. Catalogue number JAZID LP102

These releases will be a limited edition, available for only three months, when the next three vinyl classics will hit the shelves
