Acid Jazz collaboration with Dr. Bob Jones – Black on Black
Acid Jazz is happy to announce a long-held ambition to work with UK soul royalty Dr. Bob Jones. Without his 50+ years as a DJ, producer and taste-maker, it is unlikely we’d be doing what we do. So when the opportunity arose for us to archive and reissue his ‘Black on Black’ record label catalogue, we jumped at the chance.
During the 1990s, Bob was tied into London’s vibrant Street Soul and Acid Jazz scenes, receiving scores of demos which he felt never saw the releases they deserved. As a result, he formed the label in 1993.
The label’s calling card was the various artists compilation ‘Black Milk’, which we issue digitally for the first time today.
