‘Beatmaker’
Following the huge acclaim of his 2021 album The Blue Elephant and 10th anniversary box set Gather Up (awarded four stars in The Times, MOJO, and Uncut) Matt Berry begins 2022 with the release of a new single.
‘Beatmaker’ finds Matt teaming up with UK soul singer Emma Noble to release a cover version of Doris’ 1970 Swedish psych-funk number.
Recorded in London in the middle of 2021, Matt and Emma bring an urgency to the track that makes it sound totally contemporary.
The track debuted on 4th January 2022 on the latest series of Matt’s Emmy Award winning ‘Toast’, making it’s BBC2 premier.
The limited picture sleeve 7-inch will be released in March. This will come with an exclusive B-side instrumental version.
